Bonavista Dialysis Committee
Donated $47,255

The Bonavista Dialysis Committee recently donated $47,255 to purchase a Portable Ultrasound for use by the Dialysis Unit and the Hospital in Bonavista.  An Ultrasound machine is very valuable for dialysis patients – it can be used for catheter placement, detect leakage, assessing complications and many more used.  The Dialysis patients, the Hospital and staff are extremely thankful for your support.  This caring group formed a committee to raise money for the Dialysis Unit at Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Centre and to date have donated almost $80,000. They are an amazing group.  Pictured above from left to right are:  Gail Brown, Juanita Clench, Jacque Hicks & John Norman.  Missing from photo:  Sharon Keel & Doug Robbins.

donate $4,700

to Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Centre

The Bonavista Dialysis Committee & Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Auxiliary are both caring groups of people who go above and beyond to provide comfort for patients and their families for the Bonavista area.  They recently got together and donated $4,700 to purchase furniture, decorations and a microwave for the Quiet Room at the Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Centre.  The Dialysis Committee was formed to raise money for the Bonavista Dialysis Unit, but they also provide help in other areas that’s needed.  The Bonavista Peninsula Health Care Auxiliary is always there to serve the needs of the Hospital.  Over the years they raised funds through bake sales, craft fairs, tree of memories, calendar sales, and ticket sales to purchase much needed medical equipment and other items that provide comfort to residents and patients.  Although primarily a fund raising group, some of the members also volunteer to assist inpatient/resident care as well.  Pictured above from left to right:  Dialysis Committee – Doug Robbins, Sharon Keel, Gail Brown, Jacque Hicks, Juanita Clench & John Norman.  Bonavista Hospital Auxiliary – Frances Sweetland, Elizabeth Fleming, Enid Russell, Joan Squires, Minnie Stead & Marie Rolls.
